In an age of restless brilliance, Dorothy Parker was a singular sensation. A New Yorker at heart, her national celebrity sprang from her sharp, biting humor and widely quoted quips. Regularly seated at the famed Algonquin Round Table, she occupied the city’s cultural and intellectual center stage. An iconic enthusiast of gin and an unconventional woman, no one could have been a more interesting drinking companion.
Tasting Notes
From the distillery: On the nose, sweet floral notes are balanced with muscular juniper. Elderberry, citrus and cinnamon are all also evident on a glorious sweet and floral nose. Hibiscus and passion fruit are also present. Bright, refreshing, inviting and somewhat unique. On the palate, hibiscus petals appear prominent, but not at the expense of juniper. This is still very much a proper gin. The taste starts strong with spice and juniper. Cassia and juniper up front, building to a peak with a burst of heat and Cinnamon develops. Candied orange, a bit of sour cranberry and elderberry. Fading notes in the character of strawberry-rhubarb pie.
Method
American Gin separates itself from the London Dry-style by dialing back the juniper and letting other botanicals shine through as well.
Our Thoughts
Lime and sea breeze, fresh juniper, rockets (the candy).
Light-bodied, spicy, with some juniper that’s well-balanced with the other botanicals.
