Tasting Notes
CrisprefreshingSmooth
The Japan Brewery Company, the forerunner of Kirin, was founded over a hundred years ago in 1885. Just three years later, in 1888, the brewing of Kirin beer began. 1990 saw the launch of Kirin Ichiban Shibori, a unique brew made exclusively from the first press of the wort.
Tasting Notes
Clear golden yellow colour with light head; aromas of sweet malt, sour bread, light cereal and soft apple fruit with delicate floral, herb, apple/pear and citrus notes; dry, light bodied, crisp and refreshing, flavours of light malt, sweet toasted cereal/grain, with citrus and bready notes; finish is clean, mildly hoppy, with pleasantly bitter note.
Method
Today, Kirin Ichiban is brewed to the specifications of an International Pale Lager by partners all over the world – our shipment comes from Guelph, Ontario!
Our Thoughts
Mmm mmm malty. Aromas and flavours of bread crust and crackers are the main takeaways here. Complemented by subtle hints of apples and a graham cracker sweetness. Light, easy drinking with frothy quickly dissipating head. Highly attenuated (dry) finish; this is your fried food beer.
