Domaine Anita is named after Anita Kuhnel who has been making wine under the Domaine Anita since 2015. Anita’s wine porfolio includes some of the most prestigious crus of Beaujolais. The actual domaine is located in the smallest Beaujolais Cru, Chénas. She practices sustainable viticulture, with minimal treatments, green harvesting and smart canopy management. Assisted by Guy Marion, former head of winemaking at Georges Duboeuf, she produces a range of excellent wines. She vinifies her plots separately and crafts wines that are concentrated and plush, ripe and succulent, but also so lively and concentration that contrasts with freshness.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of very ripe black fruits and intensely spicy notes. The palate is generous and rich with lots of ripe juicy red and black fruit, violets with heady tannins making for a well structured Beaujolais. This wine can be enjoyed now with cheeses, charcuterie, terrines, duck breast but also has some aging potential.
Method
Made from sustainably farmed Gamay from 50-year-old vines grow in the Beaujolais Cru appellation of Chénas from the lieux dit “Les Brureaux”. The grapes are grown in stony silica soils with high clay subsoils at a high altitude of 265 meters above sea level with a East/North East exposure. The vines are trained en Gobelet, the grapes are hand harvested and sorted manually. Maceration takes 10 days and the wine is aged 6 months in cement tanks and approximately 3 months in bottle before it is released.
